We’re proud to shine a light on Nick Wellstead from MESH, who is taking on the 2026 TCS London Marathon in support of Rhino Ark. They are a brilliant charity working to protect Kenya’s wildlife, forests and communities.

Nick has set himself the ambitious challenge of tackling next year’s marathon, beginning his training this week (weather permitting!). This is a significant commitment for Nick, and one that sits outside his wheelhouse, but we can only applaud his determination to turn a personal goal into an opportunity to make a real impact.

Rhino Ark’s work stretches far beyond rhino protection. Their work includes:

– Building and maintaining electric fences that safeguard endangered wildlife such as black rhinos and forest elephants

– Preserving Kenya’s mountain forest ecosystems, including the Aberdare Range, Mount Kenya and Mau Eburu. These are crucial water sources and biodiversity hotspots for millions!

– Supporting local communities through education, sustainable living initiatives and long-term conservation partnerships.

These landscapes are under threat, but with initiatives like Nick’s, Rhino Ark can continue making progress toward a greener, more balanced future.
